According to LinkedIn data, the Tampa Bay region landed Number 6 in its top 10 cities for tech employees. The results were based on migration patterns. It had roughly 128 employees per 10,000 LinkedIn users who relocated to the region.
There are also a number of tech corporations that have expanded to the Tampa Bay area, including New York-based CrossBorder Solutions and Canadian-based Codeboxx Technology.
What does this mean?
The workforce in the Tampa Bay area is booming and the economy is doing well. It has the headquarters of four Fortune 500 companies which makes it a moderately attractive city for work and economic growth. The place is now considered one of the fastest-growing job hubs in the country, and so many are choosing to buy a property or rent.
Another thing that makes Tampa attractive and makes people want to move here is its cost of living, which is 5% lower than the national average. The housing expenses are 23% lower than the national average and healthcare is 2% lower than the national average.
Based on the data from the past 12 months, Zillow predicts that home values are still about to rise by 18.8% over the next 12 months.
Investing in Tampa is surely worth it, given the housing market and economic growth of the area.
